He Mapuna te Tamaiti
He mapuna te tamaiti
He wairua tona
He mauri tona
Ko ta tatau mahi
He whakapakari i te tamaiti
A Wairua, a Hinengaro, a Tinana hoki
This child is precious
It has spirit
It has life force
It is our task
To support the child develop
spiritually, intellectually and physically
The Pikorua Tohu
Ko te Whāea
te Pou Tokomanawa o te Whānau,
e awhina ana i tana tamaiti
e tākai ana i tōna aroha ki tōna Whānau
The Mother is the nucleus of the Whānau, embracing her child and wrapping her aroha around her Whānau.
